Johan du Toit
is the Managing Director and a founding member of BEE Rating Solutions (Pty) Ltd.  Prior to establishing BEE Rating Solutions in 2006, Johan held various Senior Management positions in the corporate environment up to 2003, as well as the position of Managing Director of a small business until 2006.  He achieved a BA (Hons.) degree at RAU in 1987 and an MBL at UNISA in 1993.  According to Johan, ethics, honesty, reliability and quality customer service forms the basis of a business proposition to any client.


Bernard van der Walt graduated from Florida Hoërskool in 1986 where after he spent two years in the South African Air Force.  He then studied at The University of Johannesburg and completed a B.Comm Degree.  In January 1992 he started full time employment at the Roodepoort City Council as an assistant accountant.  In November 1993 he graduated with a B.Comm (Hons) from UJ and in August 1994 started employment at a marketing company where he developed the financial and administration systems.  In 1997 he was appointed as Marketing Director at the abovementioned Marketing Company.  In 2003 he graduated with an MBA from the Herriot Watt University in Edinburg.  He has been specialising in the valuation and restructuring of companies and specifically restructuring companies in terms of Black Economic Empowerment since 2004.

What is "Black Economic Empowerment (BEE)"?

This is an integrated and coherent socio-economic process that directly contributes to the economic transformation of South Africa and brings about both significant increases in the number of black people that manage, own and control the country’s economy as well as significant decreases in income inequalities.


What is the difference between EE and BEE?


EE is the acronym for Employment equity which froms a part of the BEE (Black Economic Empowerment) scorecard, under the Human Resources theme.

What is "Broad-based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE)"?
This means the economic empowerment of all black people including women, workers, youth, people with disabilities and people living in rural areas through diverse but integrated socio-economic strategies that include but are not limited to :



increasing the number of black people that manage, own and control enterprises and productive assets


facilitating ownership and management of enterprises and productive assets by communities, workers, cooperatives and other collective enterprises
human resource and skills development
achieving equitable representation in all occupational categories and levels in the workforce
preferential procurement
investment in enterprises that are owned and managed by black people
